Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of cuprite var. chalcotrichite from Bisbee!!! This specimen hosts a broad vug with a rich showing of intense, ruby red cuprite var. chalcotrichite!!! The chalcotrichite is present both as complex filagrees of square-shaped crystals and elongated, hair-like crystals!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see some amazing crystalline forms (the hair-like crystals are actually dramatically elongated cubes with sharp, squared edges and the complex filagrees of crystals show the same features)!!! There is also a small amount of chalcotrichite on the reverse as well!!! Classic old time material!!! This specimen retains an old label from A.E. Foote as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
