Chalcocite with Baryte

Dzhezkazgan, Karagandy Province, Kazakhstan

4.72cm x 4cm x 2.62cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of chalcocite from Kazakhstan!!! This specimen hosts several well formed crystals of chalcocite aesthetically scattered across a broad plate of matrix in association with some complex, pale blue crystals of baryte!!! The chalcocite crystals exhibit complex, stout prismatic and disc-like forms that are scattered about the matrix in a very attractive manner!!! The crystals exhibit a brilliant, metallic luster with an attractive brassy-iridescent patina highlighted by areas of bright purple and blue iridescence!!! The baryite crystals are present as a comlpex group of intergrown, pale blue crystals!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 27th!!!
