Chabourneite with Realgar

Jas Roux, Pelvoux Mt., Valgaudemar, Hautes-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

7.8cm x 4cm x 2.2cm

Ex. Bill Pinch

Ex. Dr. F. P. D'Esopo Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of this rare species from the type locality in France!!! This specimen hosts numerous scattered grains and masses of dark blackish chabourneite in matrix up to over 5mm!!! There is some colorful realgar in present in close association to the chabourneite as well!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see minute grains of chabourneite scattered throughout the matrix as well!!! This specimen retains old labels from both Bill Pinch and Dr. F.P. D'Esopo as well (both labels note the specimen as being "rich"!)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8th!!!
