Cassiterite with Quartz

Amo Sn deposit, Ximeng Co., Pu'er Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China

3.5cm x 2.8cm x 2.57cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An absolutely incredible example of GEM cassiterite from China!!! This specimen hosts a pair of striking, brilliantly lustrous cassiterite crystals on a quartz crystal matrix!!! The cassiterite crystals have incredible gemminess with colorless to light smoky color with some dark smoky accents on the corners!!! The crystals show sharp, characteristic twinning with sharply defined twin-planes visible on the corners!!! The crystals are significantly lighter in color than the pics show and have very impressive gemmy clarity throughout!!! This is an amazing example of the species indeed!!! Simply incredible in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 13th!!!
