Caledonite with Linarite & Bindheimite (Oxyplumboromeite)

Darwin, Darwin District, Inyo Co., California

5.93cm x 5.53cm x 4.52cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific combination of colorful rare species from California!!! This specimen consists of what was once dolomite crystal that has altered into a showy and colorful combination of lively blue caledonite, bright yellow bindheimite, and intense royal blue linarite!!! Upon close inspection, one can clearly see that there was a large galena crystal that has been completely altered into these colorful secondary species!!! One can see several areas where the secondary species exhibit concentric cubic outlines left over by the original galena crystal!!! There are also areas of complex cerussite crystals tucked in vugs with the caledonite crystals!!! There is a LOT more to see upon close inspection with a loupe or scope!!! Old material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
