Calcite on Quartz

Holland Mine, Washington Camp-Duquesne District, Patagonia Mts, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona

8.4cm x 4cm x 2.55cm

Ex. A. J. Beres Collection No. A-1243

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent, old time example of quartz and calcite from this classic Arizona locality!!! This specimen consists of a long, slender quartz crystal that hosts a selective covering of complex, spikey white calcite crystals!!! There is also a second, smaller quartz crystal that is completely covered by calcite!!! There is also an unidentified layer of darker colored, crystalline mineralization just below the calcite (possible pseudomorphs?)!!! The quartz crystal is sharp, complete, and undamaged!!! The striking, two-toned selective coating of crystals and gracefully elongated quartz crystal result in a most aesthetic specimen!!! This old time specimen is absolutely gorgeous in person!!! The pics don't even come close to doing this killer justice!!! This specimen is from the collection of A.J. Beres!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 16th!!!
