Description/Interesting Notes: An old time example of brucite and hydromagnesite from Pennsylvania!!! This specimen consists of a serpentine matrix that hosts a coating of stark white hydromagnesite and a cluster of platy, lustrous crystals of brucite!!! The brucite crystals are actually quite rigid and solid, with marked clarity and bright luster!!! This specimen retains an old label from the personal collection of Raymond E. Schortmann (of the famed Schortmann's Minerals!) as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
