Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely INCREDIBLE example of BLUE GEM garnet from Madagascar!!! This specimen is a complex, rounded alluvial crystal of
rare spessartine-pyrope garnet!!! This is a TRUE, INCREDIBLY RARE, BLUE garnet!!! Additionally, this specimen shows INTENSE
and pronounced COLOR CHANGE - changing from an intense deep sapphire blue in sunlight or natural full spectrum fluorescent light
to an amazing violet purple in incandescent lighting (the pics were taken under both lighting conditions obviously)!!! This is a clean, facet-grade, GEM crystal!!!
This specimen has the most incredible color - it is truly unlike anything I have ever seen in a gem crystal!!! I must say that
capturing this specimen with the camera was quite a challenge!!! I must stress that this specimen's color is WAY better than
the pictures show!!! The blue color is VERY intense, deep and defined!!! The blue color is not a "purplish blue" or "bluish" -
it is a TRUE, INTENSE BLUE color that is unlike anything I have ever seen in the mineral kingdom!!! The purple color is
incredible as well, however in most typical lighting situations (i.e. daylight) this specimen proudly shows its
stunning blue color!!! This specimen exhibits some of the BEST color change I have EVER seen in any mineral as well!!!
The color change is dramatic, intense, and defined - it literally turns from a pure, intense blue (with no hint of purple)
to a pure, rich purple !!!
The pictures don't even come close to capturing just how amazing this material is!!! There is only a VERY small handful of this
material recovered in Madagascar it is immediately snatched up by gem dealers because of the huge sums these rare
and exceptional gems command!!! This material is incredibly scarce and is usually
only found as tiny grains just fractions of a carat in size!!! You do not want to miss out on this very rare opportunity!!! Truly incredible
material - a true wonder to behold!!!
