Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and fantastic example of bixbyite from South Africa!!! This specimen hosts a broad face that is completely covered with lustrous, juxtaposed cubic crystals of razor-sharp, jet-black bixbyite!!! The rich showing of sharp, lustrous crystals is quite striking in person - the crystals are much more prominent and showy than the pictures convey!!! The crystals measure up to .5cm!!! Many of the crystals show complex striations on their faces as well!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays magnificently in person!!! These Kalahari bixbyite specimens are quite scarce indeed!!! Simply a fantastic example of the species from South Africa!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
