Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of baryte from this famous South Dakota locale!!! This specimen consists of a large single crystal of
baryite!!! The crystal has sharp, glassy faces and gem clarity!!! The crystal exhibits characteristic color that grades
from golden yellow to rich amber brown with a small band of colorless baryite between the two!!!
The crystal's termination is appears to have been complexly intergrown with calcite which has subsequently dissolved however, given
the crystals large size and fine quality it is still quite impressive regardless!!! Classic material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
