Barite

Borbeck, Essen, Ruhr Coal Mining area, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

10.7cm x 6.23cm x 3.43cm

Ex. L. L. Hubbard Collection (1849-1933)

Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum #DM-9669

Description/Interesting Notes:

An old time example of barite from this old time German locality!!! This specimen hosts numerous small, sharp crystals of barite on both sides of the matrix!!! The crystals have sharp, glassy faces and marked clarity!!! Upon close inspection, many of the crystals have a slightly pink color due to a pinkish inclusion at their core!!! This specimen retains a label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum with L.L. Hubbard Collection (1849-1933) notation as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! **We have just returned from the annual Gem & Mineral Show in Tucson, Arizona!!!
