Axinite-(Fe) with Epidote and Actinolite New Melones Dam, Calaveras Co., California 3.86cm x 2.72cm x 1.96cm Ex. A. L. McGuinness

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of axinite from California!!! This specimen consists of a network of green epidote crystals and fine "hairs" of actinolite that host a cluster of deep champagne-colored axinite crystals!!! The axinite crystals are sharp, lusrous, and translucent to gemmy!!! While many of the crystals are classic sharp blades, there are many others that are highly complex and etched!!!
