Aurichalcite with Calcite

Mapimi, Mun. de Mapimi, Durango, Mexico

6.54cm x 3.4cm x 3cm

Ex. Howard Belsky Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A gorgeous example of aurichalcite from this classic locale!!! This specimen consists of a rich showing of thick, stout, intensely colored clusters of aurichalcite in association with small, highly complex, gem-clear crystals of calcite on a limonitic matrix!!! The aurichalcite crystals are particularly fine, with thick, rigid crystals and choice, intense turquoise color!!! Part of what makes the aurichalcite crystals so fine is that there are many highly complex, gem-clear (almost invisible!) crystals of calcite that are actually intergrown with the aurichalcite - in some cases actually "freezing" them together!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Howard Belsky and retains its original collection label as well!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
