Beryl var. Aquamarine with Torbernite Hale Quarry, Portland, Middlesex Co., Connecticut 6.87cm x 6.7cm x 4.62cm Ex. Frank W. Hess Collection No. 1278

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unusual combination of aquamarine beryl and torbernite from Connecticut!!! This specimen hosts a pair of stout, light blue aquamarine beryl crystals in association with numerous light green platy crystals of torbernite on a quartz and muscovite matrix!!! The aquamarine crystals are sharply defined and the green torbernite crystals are much more prominent in person!!! There are some tiny somewhat massive red garnets in present in the matrix on the underside as well!!! The torbernite crystals are present both on the aquamarine crystals and on the matrix, as well as partially included within the muscovite!!! There is more torbernite to be seen upon close inspection than what can be seen in the pics!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Hess collection as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
