Beryl var. Aquamarine Minas Gerais, Brazil 2.42cm x .49cm x .47cm Rare 18-sided crystal!

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unusual example of aquamarine from Brazil!!! This specimen consists of a very rare 18-sided crystal of GEM aquamarine!!! This specimen has so many sides that it appears to be cylindrical at first!!! However, upon close inspection one can see that this is in fact a rare 18-sided aquamarine beryl crystal!!! While beryl crystals are usually hexagonal (with six sides), there are rare circumstances where crystals will exhibit 12 or, more rarely, 18 sides!!! This crystal is undamged and has a complete termination!!! The crystal is glassy and GEM clear with characteristic blue green color!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
