Description/Interesting Notes:
This is a huge lot of Brazillian beryl crystals that originally came from the U.S. Government's strategic reserve of beryllium!!! The U.S. government
maintains strategic reserves of just about every kind of raw material and this material came from beryllium reserves that had
been accumulated prior to WWII and were subsequently sold off years later!!! This is a parcel of well over 2.3Kg (closer to 2.4Kg actually!) and
consists of a couple hundred individual beryl crystals!!! The crystals exhibit a range of colors ranging from colorless to yellow to
aquamarine!!! Many of the crystals exhibit complex etching and some very odd and curious terminations!!! There are a number of good "specimens" and
a significant portion of facetable material that could yield substantial cut stones!!! The largest crystal measures 9cm!!! I have
included numerous pictures that exhibit different examples of the material to be found in the lot with most of the "specimen"
pictures being shown in the upper pictures and
the "gem rough" material being shown toward the bottom!!! The very first and very last pictures show the group in its entirety!!! There is
some significant value in this lot!!!
