Description/Interesting Notes: A classic example of apophyllite from BRAZIL!!! Yes - that's right, this is an apophyllite from Brazil!!! These classic specimens date back to the 1960's and are very rarely encountered today!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of lustrous, cubic crystals of apophyllite with complex modifications!!! The crystals are colorless with light green cores and marked clarity!!! The matrix hosts an area of colorful celadonite that are quite characteristic to the locality (similar to that seen with the more common Rio Grande do Sul calcite clusters of recent years)!!! These classic Brazillian apophyllites are next to impossible to find today!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
