Quartz var. Amethyst

Pohndorf mine, Toll Mountain, Boulder Batholith, Jefferson Co., Montana

2.83cm x 2.32cm x 2.12cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic, old time amethyst & smoky quartz crystal scepter from Montana!!! This specimen consists of a complex, amethyst scepter with a dark, smoky quartz stem!!! The amethyst has gemmy clarity and rich grape purple color and exhibits some pronounced zoning!!! The "stem" has deep dark smoky color and, upon close inspection, appears to have a nearly flat, but discernable, double termination!!! The amethyst portion of the crystal has some highly complex faces with brilliant, glassy luster!!! The crystals's termination is sharp and complete!!! This specimen displays magnificently all around!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreicated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 26th!!!
