Altaite with Native Gold

Tobourn Mine (Tough-Oakes Burnside Mine), Kirkland Lake area, Ontario, Canada

7.35cm x 6.5cm x 6.3cm

Ex. C. A. Foster

Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum #DM-2316

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of altaite and native gold from Canada!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of silvery altaite and lively yellow native gold in matrix!!! The native gold is richly distributed and can be seen on all sides of the specimen!!! The altaite has bright silvery metallic luster and there are numerous significant and dense masses distributed throughout the matrix!!! In addition to the altaite, there are other clearly defined, unidentified tellurides present as well!!! This specimen retains a label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum with C.A. Foster Collection notation!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 20th!!!
