Alstonite on Calcite with Fluorite

Cave-in-Rock, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois

4.6cm x 3.2cm x 2.64cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A superb example of this rare species from Illinois!!! This specimen consists of a small amount of fluorite matrix that hosts an aesthetic grouping of juxtaposed calcite crystals that have been richly coated with alstonite crystals!!! The calcite crystals have been completely covered with significant, well formed crystals of alstonite!!! Upon close examination, one can see well formed alstonite crystals completely covering every surface!!! This is a magnificent - and showy, example of this rare species from Cave-in-Rock!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays gorgeously in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 22nd!!!
