Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of almandine garnet from New York City!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of quartz and muscovite that hosts a dense distribution of small brownish red "seed" garnets!!! This specimen resembles an opened seed-pod full of small, shiny seeds!!! The crystals have an unusually rounded appearance, glassy luster, and gemmy clarity!!! Simply a magnificent specimen with great history and provenance!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen retains its original Wintringham label!!!
