Almandine Garnet

Thackaringa District, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia

11.75cm x 7.2cm x 6cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A HUGE example of almandine garnet from Austrailia!!! This specimen consists of a gigantic single crystal of almandine garnet!!! The crystal is sharp and complete all around!!! Save for some minor damage (most of these giant garnets were VERY damaged) this specimen is in terrific condition!!! We wrote about these specimens on our Tucson Blog and were suddenly filled with requests about them!!! We saved just one for auction on ebay so don't miss out!!! This monster weighs a hefty 1.23 kg!!! The pics hardly do it justice - it is actually quite handsome in person!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY FEBRUARY 25TH!!!

Please be sure to check our "About Me" page to see our "Tucson Blog" and exciting new specimens from the show!!!
