Acanthite with Polybasite

Himmelsfurst Mine, Freiberg District, Saxony, Germany

2cm x 1.78cm x 1.45cm

Ex. Fred W. Cassirer Collection (1888-1979)

Description/Interesting Notes:

A superb, old time example of acanthite with polybasite from this classic German locality!!! This specimen consists of a showy cluster of acanthite crystals in association with scattered hexagonal blades of polybasite!!! The crystals are sharply defined and have lively metallic luster!!! The overall crystallization and detail is much sharper than the pics show!!! This specimen is absolutely gorgeous in person!!! Simply a magnificent example of the species from this sought-after historic locality!!! This specimen retains old labels from the Cassirer (1888-1979) Collection as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 4th!!!
